Old Floresta

Old Floresta. Historical neighborhood was originally established in the mid 1920's by celebrated society architect Addison Mizner, whose picturesque Spanish Mediterranean designs defined the city's signature style that endures to this day. Part of his plan to attract new residents to Boca Raton, Mizner's vision called for a neighborhood that would also house the executives and directors of his development company, and would be constructed by the firm building his glamorous masterpiece, the Cloister Inn, now the world-renowned landmark Boca Raton Resort. The neighborhood has lush tree-lined streets and beautiful flowering plants, there are just over 200 single family charming Mediterranean-style residences adorned with rustic stucco walls, beautiful wrought iron balconies, barrel tile roofs, and groomed tropical landscaping. Today, Old Floresta maintains the alluring charm of yesteryear and pays tribute to its rich history, preserving many of the original Mizner-designed residences, and was designated Boca Raton's first Historic District in 1990. Homes range from $400's, to just over $2 million.
